If you are unsure, please ask a lifeguard for clarification.Cleats and outdoor footwear are not permitted on the pool deck. You may wear clean, aquatic style appropriate footwear (ex. watershoes)Lifeguards are pool authorities; please follow their directions at all times.Glass containers are not permitted on the pool deck.AQUATICS CENTRE ETIQUETTEBe respectful and considerate of others by following the Aquatics Centre Conditions of Use.No running on the pool deck.The use of electronics, including cameras and phones, is prohibited in the Aquatic CentreAGE RESTRICTIONSYouth aged 12 years and under must have an adult (16+ years) remain within the Aquatic Centre viewing areas to supervise.Youth aged 7 years and under must have an adult (16+ years) within arm’s length at all times while in the pool, with a ratio of 1 adult per 3 children. The adult must remain in the water supervising the children at all times.Youth under 16 years of age cannot be responsible for younger siblings or children in their group.Youth aged 14 years and older may attend aquatic group exercise classes independently.Youth aged 12 - 13 years may attend aquatic group exercise classes with a parent or guardian aged 16+ years.Youth aged 12 years and under are not permitted to attend aquatic group exercise classes independently, unless authorized by the Aquatic Manager.LEISURE POOL SLIDESlide users must be a minimum of 48 inches tall.The slide may only be used during scheduled pool slide open times and when a RECC lifeguard is on duty.Feet-first at all times on the slide.Unless otherwise stated, all facility users are subject to the RECC General Conditions of Use in addition to the department-specific conditions listed above. For the privacy of our patrons, the use of cell phones, cameras, and recording devices is strictly prohibited in all locker rooms
All personal items should be stored in a secured locker
Lockers are available for day use only
Members are advised to bring their own locks as the RECC does not supply locks
Locks left over night may be cut and items removed nightly
Equipment such as hand dryers and bathing suit dryers should be used for their intended purposes only
Please report equipment malfunction or damage to Welcome Desk
Please be mindful of others; the RECC is a “scent aware” facility
Outdoor footwear is not permitted in the Fitness Centre or on the pool deck
No food or drink, with the exception of water bottles, is permitted in the Fitness Centre or on the pool deck

Proper swim attire is required in the pool. Cut off shorts, underwear, and loose fitting clothing are not permitted
Anyone not toilet trained must wear water resistant swimwear. Cloth or disposable diapers are not permitted
THE RECC WILL NOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR LOST OR STOLEN PERSONAL ITEMS
PLEASE NOTE:
Children 12 and under must have an adult (16+ yrs) remain within the aquatic changerooms and locker rooms
Preschool males (5 yrs & under) are permitted in the female locker room when accompanied by their female parent/guardian
Preschool females (5 yrs & under) are permitted in the male locker room when accompanied by their male parent/guardian
Parents accompanying their opposite gender children 6 yrs and older MUST use the Family Locker Room
The Family Locker Room / All Gender Change Room is for anyone who needs a private place separate from the men’s and women’s locker rooms to assist their children as well as gender-variant people and people with disabilities who have assistants of another gender.

FITNESS CENTRE ETIQUETTEBe respectful and considerate of others by following the Fitness Centre Conditions of Use.Weights are to be returned to the rack after use.Please be courteous of others. Earphones must be worn when using a personal device.Appropriate fitness attire is required (no cut-offs, jeans, etc.).Closed-toe, non-slip Indoor athletic shoes are required. Footwear must be clean, dry, and non-marking (no sandals, socks, work boots, no barefeet, etc.). Phone calls may not be made or received in the Fitness Centre. Please step outside if you need to make or take a call.FITNESS CENTRE EQUIPMENT USE All users are expected to use fitness equipment in a respectful, safe, and timely manner. The following standards apply:Proper safety techniques must be employed when using equipment. If you are unsure how to use the equipment, please do not hesitate to ask a RECC staff member for assistance.Set weights down gently. Do not intentionally drop weights.All equipment and weights are to be sprayed and wiped down after use.Improper use of equipment and/or damage to equipment may result in loss of privileges.Equipment is intended for active use only. Users must not occupy machines, benches, or stations for extended periods without actively exercising.Sitting, standing, or lingering on equipment while not in use (including extended phone use, social media browsing, or non-exercise-related activities) is not permitted when others are waiting.Users are expected to limit rest periods on equipment between sets to a reasonable duration in order to allow fair access to all members.Sharing and rotation of equipment is encouraged during busy periods. Users must allow others to “work in” when appropriate.Personal devices should not interfere with the timely and safe use of equipment.Staff reserve the right to intervene if equipment is being monopolized or not used in accordance with facility expectations.AGE RESTRICTIONSYouth aged 18 and under must have a parent/legal guardian read and complete a liability waiver prior to accessing the Fitness Centre.Patrons aged 16 and older may work out independently; a complimentary Fit Start Orientation is strongly encouraged.Children under 12 are not permitted in the Fitness Centre or Group Exercise Studio unless registered in a supervised youth program.Youth aged 14 and older may attend all group exercise classes independently. Youth aged 12 and 13 may attend group exercise classes with a parent or adult guardian aged 16 or older.Youth aged 13–15 may work out independently; however, a complimentary Fit Start Orientation is strongly encouraged.Youth aged 12 may work out with a parent or adult guardian aged 16 or older; however, a complimentary Fit Start Orientation is strongly encouraged.CAMERA POLICYMembers may use mobile devices on the gym floor to photograph or record themselves in limited circumstances. This privilege may be revoked at any time, for any reason, at the sole discretion of RECC team members.Use of a mobile device on the gym floor may be permitted under the following conditions:Members may not use a mobile device to take photographs or videos if doing so presents a risk of injury to themselves or others. Please avoid standing on the Walking Track or leaning on handrails or countertops.Please wait for a stoppage in play before entering or exiting bowl seating areas during events.AGE RESTRICTIONSYouth aged 13 and older may use the Walking Track independently.Youth aged 12 and under must be supervised at all times by a parent or guardian who is at least 16 years of age.TURF-FIT ZONEThe Turf-Fit Zone is intended for warm-ups and cool-downs.Please use this area without disrupting Walking Track users.Unless otherwise stated, all facility users are subject to the RECC General Conditions of Use in addition to the department-specific conditions listed above. Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring their children's safety and appropriate behaviour.Smoking, vaping, chewing tobacco, hookahs, and e-cigarettes are prohibited on RECC property.No roughhousing.Foul language is not permitted.Glass containers are prohibited within the facility.Food and beverages are only permitted in designated areas. Water bottles must be non-glass and sealable.Absolutely no stick or ball play anywhere in the facility.The RECC is a scent-aware facility.
