Basic Workplace First Aid

BASIC WORKPLACE FIRST AID (formerly called Emergency First Aid) provides a general knowledge of first aid principles and the emergency treatment of injuries including: victim assessment, CPR, choking, and what to do for external bleeding, heart attack, stroke, wounds and burns. 


This course meets provincial regulations for workplace first aid requirements. 100% attendance is required for completion.

Intermediate Workplace First Aid + CPR C + AED

Intermediate Workplace First Aid + CPR C + AED (2-day course) (formerly  called Standard First Aid) provides comprehensive training covering all  aspects of first aid. IWFA incorporates Basic Workplace First Aid and  is designed for those who require a more in-depth understanding of first  aid including: legal implications of first aid treatment, spinal  injuries, heat or cold injuries, bone and joint injuries, chest  injuries, and medical emergencies. This course meets provincial  regulations for workplace first aid requirements. 100% attendance is  required for completion.

Bronze Cross & Bronze Medallion

Take the next step toward becoming a lifeguard! This combined Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross course teaches essential lifesaving skills, water rescue techniques, emergency response, and leadership in aquatic environments. 100% attendance is required.

Participants will develop judgment, fitness, and problem-solving skills while learning how to prevent emergencies and respond effectively when they occur. Bronze Cross builds on the skills learned in Bronze Medallion and introduces more advanced rescue techniques, spinal injury management, and teamwork required for lifeguarding.

Prerequisites: Participants must be at least 13 years of age or have successfully completed Bronze Star.

Jr Lifeguards Nippers

Our Junior Guards Program is a fun and active introduction to lifeguarding, leadership, and water safety for youth ages 10–13.

Throughout the week, participants will develop swimming skills, learn basic rescue techniques, practice first aid concepts, and build confidence in and around the water. Participants will also be introduced to skills from the Lifesaving Society's Bronze Star and Bronze Medallion programs while taking part in team-building activities, games, fitness challenges, and hands-on learning experiences.

This program is designed to help youth develop responsibility, leadership, communication, and teamwork skills while exploring future opportunities in aquatics and lifesaving.

National Lifeguard

Recognized as the standard measurement of lifeguard performance in Canada, National Lifeguard education is designed to develop a sound understanding of lifeguarding principles, good judgment and a mature and responsible attitude toward the role of the lifeguard. The National Lifeguard’s primary role is the prevention of emergency situations and where this fails, the timely and effective resolution of emergencies.

Prerequisite: Must be 15 years old by course end date, and have proof of completion of Bronze Cross with IWFA
